Carley Ochs

Founder, Bourbon & Bowties

Straight from the South, designer and owner Carley Ochs started making bangles for friends and family after she discovered a market of fabulous gems and stones while she was abroad in Shanghai. Her design was to hand make souvenirs for her friends from the jade she stumbled upon while in China - from which, the first Bourbon and Boweties bangle was born. After an overwhelming response to her design, Carley presented her hand-made bangles to the heart of the South in a high-end  Charleston boutique. That day in Charleston Bourbon and Boweties made its mark and continued to grow as a jewelry line that will forever be “Made by Proud Southern Hands.”

Each Bourbon and Boweties bangle is hand-crafted in the Tampa Bay Area by one of nearly 200 contracted workers. Since August of 2012 over 800 stores across the United States have been ‘bowetied’ with stacks of our, now famous, arm parties. Amongst our famous friends, Bourbon and Boweties has been humbled with a new company of followers such as, The Lilly Pulitzer brand, Korie Robertson (worn on Fox News), Katie Couric (worn on the cover of People Magazine), Desiree Hartsock (worn on Extra with Mario Lopez), and country music recording star Jo Dee Messina (worn while singing the national anthem at the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby). Bourbon and Boweties has been sighted on the red carpet of the CMA Awards, included in the 2014 MTV Movie Awards gift bags and will be featured in gift bags for the next Grammy  Awards ceremony and the Golden Globes. Of course, we cannot forget all the incredible women who flaunt their exclusive stacks and spread the love of all things Bourbon and Boweties.
